Prof. Dr. Sinan Canan was born in 1972 in Ankara, he graduated from Hacettepe University, Faculty of Science, Department of Biology. He completed his master's degree in the Department of Histology and Embryology at Ondokuz Mayıs University, Faculty of Medicine, and earned his Ph.D. in the Department of Physiology at the same institution. From 2004 to 2015, he worked as a faculty member at various medical schools. Between 2016 and 2023, he served as a faculty member in the Department of Psychology at Üsküdar University’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, while also heading the Neuromarketing Master's Program. In 2017, Dr. Canan founded the AçıkBeyin education and research center in Istanbul, where he continues to develop neuroscience-based training programs for individuals and organizations. Dr. Sinan Canan also produces visual content through the AçıkBeyin YouTube channel and the Sinan Canan ile AçıkBeyin program on NTV. He is the author of Human’s Default Settings (İnsanın Fabrika Ayarları) and many other books.
